BEIJING, January 14, 2025 -- (BUSINESS WIRE)--The world's first 300 MW compressed air energy storage (CAES) demonstration project, "Nengchu-1," was fully connected to the grid in Yingcheng, central China's Hubei Province on Thursday, marking the official commencement of commercial operations for the power station.
[pdf] Co-located with SNAP’s hydroelectric plant, the storage system uses liquid-cooled lithium-ion batteries and is connected to the grid via a 230- kV power transformer. The Magat reservoir at Isabela is also home to SNAP’s the 200-kWp pilot floating solar project.
[pdf] SECI has invited bids for 2,000 MW of grid-connected solar projects with co-located energy storage, aiming to stabilize India's renewable energy grid. Each project requires integrating 1000 MW/4000 MWh of energy storage, charged exclusively by solar power.
