Landshut, Germany – Over three years of research, the consortium of the EU project HyFlow has successfully developed a highly efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective hybrid energy storage system (HESS) that can meet high energy and power demands.
[pdf] China’s first large-scale lithium-sodium hybrid energy storage station, located in Wenshan, Yunnan province, is now operational. The station, run by China Southern Power Grid, leverages advanced sodium-ion batteries to address energy storage demands.
[pdf] According to the request for proposals issued on July 30, the program calls for 16 standalone projects, each rated at 10MW/40MWh, totaling 160MW/640MWh of four-hour storage capacity. Selected developers will design, build, own, and operate the systems under 15-year agreements.
