BEIJING, January 14, 2025 -- (BUSINESS WIRE)--The world's first 300 MW compressed air energy storage (CAES) demonstration project, "Nengchu-1," was fully connected to the grid in Yingcheng, central China's Hubei Province on Thursday, marking the official commencement of commercial operations for the power station.
[pdf] The BESS project will have an installed capacity of around 30 MWh, which will be installed at ENGIE Energía Perú’s ChilcaUno Thermoelectric Power Plant, and will allow the plant to operate at full capacity, which translates into more efficient energy for the country, as well as contributing to improve the stability of the national power grid.
[pdf] Based on the internationally recognized UL9540A testing method, Huawei Digital Power significantly increased the number of cells with thermal runaway, making the test far more stringent, fully validating the system's safety protection capability during extreme combustion scenarios of the intelligent string-based grid-type energy storage.
